Aus technischer Seite ein durchschnittliches Wirtschaftsstrategiespiel mit relativ wenigen Baufeatures und Optionen. Überzeugend jedoch ist das System, eine Linie in seiner eigenen Stadt aufbauen zu können. Die Kartendaten werden dann aus dem Internet geladen.
Grafik 62/100 Punkte
Eine zeitlose Cartoon-Grafik, welche nicht als schlecht bezeichnet werden kann. Jedoch fehlen schlichtweg einige Details. Die Spieloberfläche ist simpel, schön und strukturiert.
Spielumfang 56/100 Punkte
Managementspiel im Endlosmodus. Es wird aber schnell repetitiv, da der Spielumfang im Allgemeinen eher mäßig ausfällt.
Sounds/Musik 42/100 Punkte
Es gibt keine besonderen Sounds. Die Musik ist in Ordnung, aber auch nicht auffallend gut.
Spielspaß 72/100 Punkte
Vor allem als Fan von Wirtschaftssimulationen wirst du hier deinen Spaß finden.

Das Spiel läuft flüssig und auch recht gut. in der Spielsession hingen wir lediglich 3 Mal fest und mussten das Spiel neu starten.
Was ist City Bus Manager?
In City Bus Manager eröffnest du ein Bus Unternehmen und musst von klein auf alle Schwierigkeiten meistern, die so ein Bus-Unternehmen mit sich bringt.
Das Spiel startet man mit einem kleinen Budget und einem leeren Firmengelände. Dort musst du erst einmal Parkplätze für deine Busse bauen und dir dann auch welche beschaffen. Da du noch recht klein bist, kannst du dir nur kleine Busse kaufen. Außerdem musst du dafür Sorgen, dass deine Mitarbeiter eine Toilette, einen Aufenthaltsraum und ein Büro haben. Den Eingangsbereich, wo deine Kunden Beschwerden abgeben und Wochentickets kaufen können darfst du natürlich auch nicht vergessen.
Zur Pflege deiner Busse benötigst du dann noch eine Halle. Dort können Reparaturen durchgeführt werden, sowie die Busse innen und außen geputzt werden. Denn der Zustand deiner Busse spielt hier eine riesige Rolle. Sind die Busse kaputt oder schmutzig, wollen langfristig weniger Leute mit eurem Unternehmen fahren.
Außerdem kannst du natürlich deine eigenen Routen erstellen. Ein großes Feature ist hier, dass Kartendaten von beliebigen Städten aus dem Netz gezogen werden können. Du musst nur deine Postleitzahl eingeben und kannst in deiner Heimatstadt deine Busse fahren lassen. Das steigert den Spielspaß ungemein.
Bau dir in deiner Heimatstadt deine Routen zusammen.
Das Routenmanagment benötigt hier auch relativ viel Planung und Managment. Du musst selbst entscheiden, von wann bis wann deine Busse fahren und in welchen Abständen diese auf die Straßen geschickt werden. Dabei musst du beachten, wo deine Haltestellen sind und wie beliebt diese sind. Führt deine Haltestelle an einer Schule vorbei? Der Verkehr wird dann wohl zu Schulzeiten erhöht sein.
Fehlende Inhalte
Leider fehlt es City Bus Manager noch an dem nötigen Schliff, um ein wirklich gutes Managment-Spiel zu werden. Es bietet schon einige Möglichkeiten, durch Forschung neue Busse und Fähigkeiten freizuschalten, sowie im Mikromanagment die Gehälter und Ticketpreise anzupassen.
Hier muss aber auch gesagt sein, dass es sich um ein Early-Access-Titel handelt und hier werden wohl auch noch Inhalte im Laufe der Zeit nachgesteuert. Jedoch fehlen aktuell so viele Funktionen, um das Endspiel interessant zu machen. Man muss zum Beispiel alle Busse jeden Tag zu jeder Tour manuell hinzufügen. Das ist vor allem am Anfang kein Drama. Wenn man aber mal 10-15 feste Touren hat, dann muss man für jeden Spieltag ca. 35 Mal einer Tour einen Bus zuweisen. Hier wäre es viel interessanter, wenn man eigene Bus-Manager hinzufügen könnte, die das dann für einen Übernehmen.
Man kann hier natürlich keine echten Marken oder sonstiges Erwarten. Nur bietet das Spiel im Allgemeinen unglaublich wenige Inhalte. Von 20 Bussen, welche aber im Allgemeinen abgesehen von Aussehen und Sitzplätzen sehr ähnlich sind, gibt es nur sehr eingeschränkte Gestaltungs- und Baumöglichkeiten auf deinem Betriebsgelände. Es fehlt außerdem jedliche Konkurrenz oder sonstige Ereignisse. Diese sollen aber zumindest im späteren Verlauf des Spiels hinzugefügt werden.
