Hobbyentwickler sind grade dabei aus der Engine von Modern Warfare 2 ein eigenes kleines Call of Duty namens "SM2" zu erstellen. Das Spiel wird komplett kostenlos sein und alle Inhalte aus allen CODs beinhalten!
Was erwartet uns in SM2?
SM2 wird auf der Spieleengine von Modern Warfare 2 laufen, was man in aktuellen Videos und Bildern auch sehen kann. Das gesamte Gameplay soll auch sehr an die alten, beliebten Call of Dutys angelehnt sein und alles bieten, was wir an ihnen geliebt haben. Es soll allerdings nur einen Mehrspielermodus geben und keinen Zombiemodus oder gar eine Kampagne.
Aktuell geplant sind über 40 Karten aus allen möglichen Call of Dutys. Welche es genau sein sollen, wurde nicht bekanntgegeben, jedoch kann man in Screenshots und Gameplay-Aufnahmen bereits folgende Karten sehen:
Dome(MW3), Estate(MW2), Erosion(MW3), Overwatch(MW2), Afghan (MW2), Derail (MW2), Favela (MW2), Nuketown (BO1), Rust(MW2)

Außerdem sind über 100 Waffen mit kompletten Veränderungsmöglichkeiten und Aufsätzen geplant. Hier kann man auch schon einiges an Gameplay sehen. Unter anderem sind folgende Klassiker geplant:

Eigene Meinung
Das Projekt klingt ersteinmal sehr vielversprechend und scheint, als würden sie ihr Anliegen wirklich ernst meinen, dass sie das beste Call of Duty seit vielen Jahren herausbringen wollen. Es stellt sich nur die Frage ob einzelne Hobbyentwickler solch ein Projekt stämmen können und ob nicht doch Activision ihnen mit einem Rechtsstreit einen Strich durch die Rechnung machen. Schließlich benutzen sie ja alle möglichen Inhalte. Außerdem wäre es ein ganz schöner Tritt in Activisions Hintern wenn ein paar einzelne Typen ein besseres Spiel hinbekommen als ein Milliardenkonzern.
